Welcome to the Club
We are a group of Luxembourgers living in London who have been meeting every month since 2005. We decided to call our website The Luxembourg Friends, with the objective to publicise events and other activities, to swap information, and to stimulate discussion.
Although we chose the web address www.luxembourgclub.co.uk, because it is memorable and snappy, this is not a club in the conventional sense. Our group has no traditional organisational structure, no committee, no members, and no clubhouse, just a web site whose content is freely available to the public, and a mailing list whose subscribers receive our monthly newsletters.
Join us at our regular pub nights!
We meet every month in Central London, usually (but not always) on the second Tuesday. The dates are announced in our newsletters, and posted on this site. Everyone is welcome, and there is no need to book.
These pub events are of particular interest to Luxembourg expatriates, to professionals who want to network, and to students who study here. But the intention is to reach out to anyone who feels an affinity with the Grand Duchy and its people, and wants to join in.
We look forward to meeting you.

About this website
Our original plan was to organise events that would complement our established monthly pub nights. We soon realised that this involved a mountain of work, and a constant flood of emails sent to our subscribers. As we Londoners lead busy lives, our concept met with limited success.
So we asked ourselves, why try to re-invent the wheel, when there were so many excellent events already laid on by third parties? All that was needed was to create a list of recommendations, and to leave it to our readers to make their own choices. Our listings are carefully selected for Luxembourgers living in London, who wish to socialise and enjoy life in the capital to the full. Many will be of interest to all Londoners. Most are free, or cost relatively little money.
We aim to present an eclectic mix of festivals, lectures, concerts, exhibitions, visits, tours and open days, and hope that our suggestions will inspire you to follow the links featured on individual pages to find out what else the organisers have to offer.
If you’d like to get in touch, please send us your comments and suggestions. Just fill in the contact form below. Rest assured, we will not pass on your details to anybody.
We hope that we shall become firm friends!
