Identical twins Fabiana and Paula Chavez were born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At a young age, they gradually lost their eyesight due to a genetic condition that left them almost completely blind.
They studied music at the Santa Ana Institute under the guidance of Nélida Sánchez, a disciple of Maestro Antonio de Raco, and graduated with honours with a Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Arts from the National University of Arts. Fabiana and Paula have performed at prestigious venues in their home country as well as internationally. At the moment, they are attending the Postgraduate Diploma course at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London.
St James’s Piccadilly presents free lunchtime recitals every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1.10pm (except Bank Holidays, and between Christmas and New Year). Recitals are of approximately 50 minutes’ duration.
No tickets required – just turn up. (There is a retiring collection – suggested donation £3.50.)
