The Dominic Alldis Trio return to St James’s for their 6th annual concert, featuring jazz arrangements of popular themes by Bach, Handel, Fauré, Borodin, Bizet, Tchaikovsky, Satie, Chopin and Bartok.
The trio explores the meeting point of two worlds: classical music and jazz. Taking inspiration from the Jacques Loussier Trio, Bill Evans Trio, Dave Brubeck Quartet and the Modern Jazz Quartet, they brings a fresh and contemporary approach to famous themes from classical music, opera, and folk songs. Their concerts appeal to both classical and jazz audiences who enjoy chamber music, jazz and the timeless art of improvisation.
St James’s Piccadilly presents free lunchtime recitals every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1.10pm (except Bank Holidays, and between Christmas and New Year). Recitals are of approximately 50 minutes’ duration.
No tickets required – just turn up. (There is a retiring collection – suggested donation £3.50.)
St James’s Piccadilly is at 197 Piccadilly, London W1J 9LL.
