Part of the Discovery series at LSO St Luke’s
Want to find out more about classical music, see world-class performers up-close for free, and liven up your lunchbreak? Come along to this informal, 45-minute concert at LSO St Luke’s, with performances by musicians from the London Symphony Orchestra and Guildhall School.
In order to mark 100 years of female suffrage in the UK, some of the pioneering women in classical music over the last century are being celebrated – from Ethel Smyth, who campaigned for the vote, equal rights and recognition a hundred years ago, to Judith Weir, one of the leading composers of today.
Talented Guildhall School singers and pianists take you on journey through songs by Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn, Amy Beach, Judith Weir, Libby Larson and Rebecca Clarke.
