Lord Mayor’s Show 2019
The annual Lord Mayor’s Show, which this year takes place on Saturday 9th November, is one of London’s grandest spectacles.
A crowd of around half a million spectators cheer the newly elected Lord Mayor of the City of London along the way, and millions more people watch the live BBC coverage.
The office of Lord Mayor dates from 1189, and the event in its current form dates back to the 16th century.
The world-famous Lord Mayor’s Procession sets off from Mansion House around 11.00am. It pauses at the Royal Courts while the Lord Mayor swears allegiance and then returns by the Victoria Embankment at 1.00pm, arriving back at Mansion House after 2.00pm.
