Preserving the Library of Bishop Porteus

January 21 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

What does it take to preserve a historic room?

Fulham Palace’s curatorial team takes you on a behind the scenes tour of the museum, giving you insights into the Palace’s approach to conservation, what it takes to interpret a historic room and the future of Bishop Porteus’s library.

Bishop of London Beilby Porteus (1731-1809) was a Church of England reformer and a leading abolitionist in England. He was the first Anglican in a position of authority to seriously challenge the Church’s position on slavery.

This is a free talk, but due to limited numbers places must be booked in advance.
