April 21, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 12:30 pm

41-gun salute in Hyde Park at noon
62-gun salute at the Tower of London at 1pm
On special days, Royal salutes are fired at the Tower of London, and also either Hyde Park or Green Park, depending upon the occasion.
On Friday 21st April at noon, The King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, fires a 41-gun salute in Hyde Park to mark the 91st birthday of Her Majesty the Queen, and the Honourable Artillery Company fires a 62-gun salute on Tower Wharf facing the River Thames.
The basic salute is 21 rounds, fired at ten second intervals, but in Hyde Park an extra 20 are fired because it is a Royal Park. At the Tower an extra 20 are also fired, because the Tower is a Royal Palace, and a further 21 are fired because it is located in the City of London, meaning a total of 62 rounds and a total firing time of around ten minutes.
