Rebuilding Battersea Power Station’s iconic chimneys
For the second year in a row, and following the sell-out success of last year’s event, Battersea Power Station is delighted to partner once again with London Craft Week to offer a fascinating insight into the craftsmanship behind restoring one of the world’s most iconic landmarks.
This year the partnership explores the careful deconstruction and restoration on the four most recognisable chimneys in the worlds, with a talk from the Structural Engineers, Heritage Experts and the Project Director, describing how the crumbling towers were rebuilt using original techniques, precise colour matching and a few inventive solutions.
An exhibition of images and film follow the story of the chimneys from their original construction in the 1930s through to The Chimney Lift Experience planned for the future.
The Village Hall at Battersea Power Station is at 6 Arches Lane, Circus West Village, London SW11 8AB
The talk is completely free. However you must register to attend. The event starts at 6.30pm. Please note that registering will not guarantee you a space. Please arrive early as places are limited.
