Tour the world from the comfort of your armchair!

The coronavirus pandemic is having a devastating effect on the travel and tourism sector, one of the world’s largest industries, with a global economic contribution of many trillions of pounds. It is responsible for an estimated 319 million jobs, or roughly ten percent of the world’s working population.

Due to travel restrictions, business travel has all but ground to a halt, and worldwide the prospects for the tourism market are very bleak indeed.

Nobody knows when things will return back to normal. Sadly, this may be too late for a number of airlines, hotel chains, cruise operators, whole regions and even countries, whose economic survival depends on a constant flow of travellers.

Among the few upsides has been the reduction in pollution levels in big cities like London.

What will the future of travel look like?

Many businesses and administrations have quickly adapted to the situation, using remote working and teleconferencing instead.

Visionaries have long predicted that one day we would don virtual headsets, and be transported to any destination of our choice without ever setting foot in an airport departure lounge.

Meanwhile, while you are quarantined at home, you may as well go on a virtual world tour visiting exotic lands, buzzing cities and interesting museums.

Sit back, fasten your seatbelt, and enjoy the adventure!
